A grounded, honest approach to therapy focused on connection, growth, and meaningful change
Seeking therapy can feel uncomfortable, uncertain, or even overwhelming at times. My goal is to create a space where you can show up honestly without feeling judged, pressured, or forced to fit into someone else’s idea of who you should be.
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating challenges related to anxiety, relationships, identity, life transitions, emotional disconnection, stress, communication difficulties, family dynamics, and personal growth. Many of the people I work with feel stuck in patterns they understand logically but continue repeating emotionally or relationally. Together, we work to better understand those patterns, where they come from, and how to respond differently moving forward.
My approach to therapy is grounded, collaborative, and direct while still remaining compassionate and supportive. I believe meaningful change happens not only through insight, but through learning how to stay connected to yourself and others during moments of stress, conflict, uncertainty, and emotional intensity.
My work is heavily influenced by Bowen Family Systems Theory, which focuses on understanding how relationships, family dynamics, emotional patterns, and life experiences shape the way we think, feel, and respond today. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I help clients explore the larger systems and patterns contributing to distress, while also building practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, self-awareness, and healthier relationships.
Before entering the therapy field, I spent over two decades serving in the military, where I worked extensively in leadership, mentorship, training, and supporting individuals through high-pressure environments and significant life challenges. Those experiences helped shape my ability to stay calm, grounded, and present with people during difficult moments while also reinforcing the importance of authenticity, trust, accountability, and human connection.
As someone who served as a gay service member before it was widely accepted to openly do so, I also understand what it can feel like to navigate identity, belonging, self-protection, and the tension between who we are internally and how we present externally to the world around us.
I do not believe therapy is about “fixing” people. I believe it is about increasing awareness, understanding patterns more clearly, building stronger relationships, and helping people live more intentionally and authentically.
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, emotionally reactive, or simply wanting to better understand yourself and your relationships, therapy can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and move toward meaningful change.
